WHAT MAKES US DIFFERENT?
Shared Support, Inc. was founded in April 2005 on the belief that adults and children living with intellectual and developmental disabilities are not defined by their diagnosis and, with the proper support, are able to achieve their dreams and become valued members of their communities. Contrary to the typical group living situation available to people with disabilities, we believe that people can only make choices, take responsibility for their lives and grow in models that serve one person at a time.
Throughout the planning process and beyond, we presume Capacity, educating our staff to act and communicate with people based upon the belief in their intellectual capability. We believe the person must drive their services based upon their unique talents, goals and dreams, not be forced to conform to a specific slot or model of expectation.
